RealMode

Real Mode

The real mode is the only way for the intel 8086 and compatable microprocessors to access memory. Any running process can access the whole system memory.

Thus, RealMode is opposed to ProtectedMode, in which a process can only access to memory for which it has the sufficient rights to, hence its name.
